One more time in 2009!

The first term is nearly over, but we’ve still a last talk for 2009 and some other useful things, before everyone heads out for a well deserved break. So don’t leave yet, and join us this week for our great Thursday event.

So, what have we got for you this week?

Business Clinic
Tuesday, 10am at Careers in Horton

Do you need one to one advice about a business idea? Do you already have a business and need help running it? Is there something you are not sure about?

Come to our drop-in advice surgery, Business Clinic, and receive individual guidance from an experienced adviser. Business Clinic runs every Tuesday from 10am-11am in the Careers Centre, Horton Building. You can book a slot by telephoning Careers on 01784 443073, from 9.30am onwards on the day you wish to come, or just turn up.

Hermione Way, founder of Newspepper.com and Techfluff.tv will be our last speaker of 2009, gracing the stage of the Moore Building Lecture. Well-known on the UK tech scene, Hermione is renowned as a presenter, reporter and tech entrepreneur.

She has also recently appeared in the London Nude Tech calendar in support of TakeHeart India, put together by Milo Yiannopoulos from TechCrunch – proving that tech people are not all unattractive geeks!

So come along this Thursday and bring all your friends!

Bright Ideas Competition Deadline
December 11th, 5pm – Online

Do you have a bright idea for a new or improved service or product, or a social enterprise or project? Put your ideas on paper and compete with your peers. You don’t need any formal business knowledge and you can enter on your own or as part of a team.

It’s simple – come up with a BRIGHT IDEA, apply and you could win one of:

  • 7 prizes of £1000
  • 16 prizes of £250
  • Plus an additional £250 for the best healthcare idea.

The deadline for applications is 5pm December 11th. Enter via the Westfocus website.
