The Launch48 weekend is a unique experience for building online businesses with a group of teams from a range of backgrounds and different sets of skills.
For each team, the goal is simple: pitch, build and launch an online business in 48 hours.
The Launch48 weekend is different from most hack-days and entrepreneurial events because:
- We have a great set of mentors that work with groups to develop their web business
- Each team has about 15 people working on each idea from a broad range of backgrounds
- Participants meet, learn from, and work with many people throughout the event
- All aspects of a business are covered including planning, marketing, PR, branding, design, finance, and development
Participants attending Launch48 weekends tell us that they come along to:
- Learn how to start up an online business
- Skill up in areas of business and technology with which they are unfamiliar
- Work on interesting pitches and ideas
- Pitch an idea that they had for an online business
- Network with other participants and mentors
- Find like-minded people with whom to work on an idea or project
Launch48 Kingston tickets are now available.
Date: Friday the 24th of June to Sunday the 26th of June, 2011
Venue: Kingston University’s Penrhyn Road campus, Surrey, UK.

Dr. Laura J Spence thinks so, and she will be giving a talk on Wednesday May 18th, 2011 at 6PM in the Management Auditorium about how her work on small and medium sized organizations was influenced by the research into ethics of Psychology Professor Carol Gilligan at Harvard University. Interviewed by Edith Hall as part of the ongoing Women in Research Lecture Series at Royal Holloway, this is a great opportunity to explore themes of ethics, inspiration and how research in fields such as psychology can help explain corporate culture. Plus there is a free reception afterwards to mingle and discuss these issues in greater detail.
Register in advance by emailing celia.mulderrig@rhul.ac.uk or on the evening from 5:40 PM.
