The University of Texas and Dell are looking for college students from around the world who want to improve areas of critical human need through innovation.

Providing a vehicle for taking student innovations from idea to reality, Dell’s Social Innovation Competition is a real-world exercise for perfecting your skills in:

  • - Project/business plan development
  • - Pitching ideas to investors
  • - Building resource networks

UnLtd Sport Relief Awards are a UK wide funding programme for 11-21 year olds, who are prepared to go the extra mile and use their passion for sport and arts to bring respect and understanding to their communities by setting up their own projects.

UnLtd Sport Relief Awards are funded by Comic Relief and provide opportunities for young people to bring communities together, to help promote understanding.

9399369Increasing numbers of student businesses are social enterprises: organisations run to solve social problems of all kinds, with profits ploughed back into the business (although you can still make a fair wage for running it).
If you think you have a good idea for a social enterprise, you have until 20th November to write just 750 words which could change your life, and the lives of others around you. Over six months, shortlisted entries will receive business plan development support from the Skoll Centre and other mentors, as well as hot-desking space at the Hive, Oxford. Each winning idea is eligible for up to £5,000 investment from a total pot of £15,000.

bright ideasDo you have a bright idea for a new or improved service or product, or a social enterprise or project? Put your ideas on paper and compete with your peers. You don’t need any formal business knowledge and you can enter on your own or as part of a team.

It’s simple – come up with a BRIGHT IDEA, apply and you could win one of:

  • 7 prizes of £1000
  • 16 prizes of £250
  • Plus an additional £250 for the best healthcare idea.

The Big Challenge 09 team is looking for original campaign ideas that will have a big impact. This is your chance to make a difference and walk away with a share of £60,000 for your social enterprise or charity. This year’s theme is

“Many cultures, many individuals, how can you create unity in your community?”
