Submit your social business idea by 16.01.11 and you could win seed funding from a £25,000 fund, expert mentors and an unforgettable experience.
The Emerge Social Venture Lab is a new, rigorous fellowship programme for UK student entrepreneurs with early-stage social venture ideas that demonstrate high-impact potential. Every year, they select ten teams to participate in an incubation programme that provides seed funding, mentorship and tailored support. By guiding these ventures from ideation to implementation, Emerge hope to develop tomorrow’s leaders who will drive positive social change.
Win up to £8,500 funding plus places at a residential bootcamp, mentoring and internships!
Increasing numbers of student businesses are social enterprises: organisations run to solve social problems of all kinds, with profits ploughed back into the business (although you can still make a fair wage for running it).
If you think you have a good idea for a social enterprise, you have until 20th November to write just 750 words which could change your life, and the lives of others around you. Over six months, shortlisted entries will receive business plan development support from the Skoll Centre and other mentors, as well as hot-desking space at the Hive, Oxford. Each winning idea is eligible for up to £5,000 investment from a total pot of £15,000.
If you want advice on your idea, you can attend one of our Business Clinic sessions, or contact us directly. To enter, visit the Skoll:EMERGE website.
