The New Entrepreneurs Foundation has been established to give 25 of the UK’s brightest entrepreneurially minded young people the opportunity to work for a year with some of the country’s leading entrepreneurs.For more information please click here to download the ebrochure. Spend a year working with a successful entrepreneur and their senior management team, supporting them on many different initiatives and gaining valuable insight into how business works.

The programme will enable you to learn about the challenges of business from some of the most outstanding entrepreneurs in this country, such as Sir Nigel Rudd, Luke Johnson, Brent Hoberman and Charles Dunstone. Receive training in business, strategy and finance from the senior executives of McKinsey, Diageo, Deloitte and a number of leading business schools.

Everyone on the programme will be entitled to receive support depending on their specific needs. The standard scholarship will amount to £20,000 for those in London and £14,000 a year if placed outside London. Additional scholarship funding to assist with living costs may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Paid internship at the Institute of Entrepreneurs

The Institute of Entrepreneurs is a think-tank formed in October 2010 to defend and promote entrepreneurialism in the UK. Co-founders include Luke Johnson, the former Chairman of Channel 4, FT columnist and highly-regarded entrepreneur.

The Institute is seeking one or more interns for ad-hoc administrative duties and research assignments. Duties will vary, but will include web research, social media tasks, membership liaison, and personal assistance to co-founder Jason Dunne and other co-founders as required. This is an opportunity to work with influential entrepreneurs and to establish a significant network of contacts.

All of NACUE’s Entrepreneurs in Residence are already working on their own venture, or are aspiring entrepreneurs who use their residency with NACUE as a launching point for the venture and career! NACUE has positioned itself at the center of the UK’s entrepreneurial action – giving you access to an exceptional network of entrepreneurs, educators, investors, policy makers and business support professionals. This is not your average internship! You are given complete responsibility for your own programmes, files and clients and have the freedom to create your own role! Their interns go on to do great things! For instance, after completing a 6 month internship with NACUE as part of her degree, Kata Gyetvai is now a Business Analyst at Ariadne Capital; after 4 months with NACUE, David Mok and is now full time on his startup; and, after 6 months with NACUE, Jonatan Fogelquist is now founding a similar organisation in Sweden (FENA).

Roles range from development, governance, operations, sponsorship, strategic relations, international relations, programmes and events management, student enterprise support, finance, policy, advocacy, research, marketing, PR, communications, programme development, etc.

They are looking for enterprising young people who are dynamic, energetic, ambitious, like to work hard and have fun, believe in the importance of self-development and ongoing learning, and are passionate about promoting entrepreneurship.

Internships are 3-5 days a week for 2-6 months and take place in the NACUE London HQ. They can be done as part of your programme of study, during a leave, or upon graduation. Their team ranges from ages 21 – 30 years old.

Social enterprise summer internships

This Summer the Student Microfinance & Development Initiative is sending top students to 158 Leading Social Entrepreneurs of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship around the world to intern.

The internships between June and October on flexible dates will be partly supported by the social entrepreneurs, but the chosen SMDI Fellows are to expect to cover travel expenses and accomodation on their own. Interested students are asked to keep this in mind before applying.

Applicants are to specify one or at most two social enterprises they are interested in working with and the dates of their availability in summer. The Schwab Foundation and SMDI are then going to choose winning applicants and set up the internships with the leading social entrepreneurs.
