Jack Lenox has been commended for his “outstanding entrepreneurial business idea” at the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards. His website, jottify.com which he dubs the “flickr for writers”, enables budding authors to post their work online where members can add comments and rate it and publishing companies can sign up to scout for new talent.
A total prize fund of £44,000 was on offer for undergraduate and postgraduate students who submitted the strongest entrepreneurial propositions, providing them with the means to develop their ideas further.
Jack impressed judges with his online community for budding writers, beating 47 entries from universities across the UK to first prize and earning him a £5,000 grant.
Jack Lenox is a ‘CodePoet’, student and founder of eNovella and Bold Media, as well as the Founding President of Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs and the creator of The Founder newspaper.

Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs are the first ever NACUE Society of the Week!
This prestigious new award is given to the UK society that has acheived the most to promote entrepreneurship at their insitution – and we are the first winners.
Victoria Lennox, CEO of the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs said, “Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs has already secured its place as one of the strongest societies in the UK. They have engaged students with a range of interests – from internet to creative enterprises – and embraced social media marketing. The future holds great things for this new society. Watch out Cambridge and Oxford!”
Here’s a photo of Jack accepting the award from Matt Smith, NACUE Groups Director. Well done to all the team!
Jack founded Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs in September 2009 to provide the support that he would have wanted to receive when he started The Founder, Royal Holloway’s independent newspaper in his first year at the College.
Jack is currently taking a year out from his studies to run Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs and to focus on eNovella, his new social network and publishing outlet for creative writers.
Jack is something of a serial entrepreneur. Having designed a number of commercial websites for small businesses whilst at school, he set up a small computer business during sixth form, building and selling computers on the internet and through eBay. During a gap year between school and university, he set up a browser-based online game which experienced some success as a project during the time it ran.
Jack currently lives in Egham. To contact Jack, please use the contact page.
